Happy Fall friends!
One of my favorite parts of fall is decorating my home. I love creating a warm and cozy environment for my family by filling our home with all the comforts of fall. Cozy textures, warm colors, bright pumpkins, fall scented candles, and most of all, fun and festive artwork.
This year, I was on the hunt for a cute pumpkin patch sign to hang in our dining room. I checked out all my go to stores (Hobby Lobby, Michael’s, and Home Goods), but I just wasn’t finding exactly what I was looking for. So, I decided to design my own!
The pumpkin patch sign design
I wanted to go for a retro, farmhouse feel. The retro pickup truck filled with pumpkins was the basis for my design. I also wanted to include hayrides and apple cider, two of our favorite things at the pumpkin patch.
When hanging art and pictures on our walls, I always go big. I feel like it makes any space look larger. So, I designed my sign to be 16 x 20 inch poster size.
To print the sign, I used Walmart’s online photo department. I’m honestly not a huge fan of Walmart’s photo printing, but the price point is just so much lower than the competitive printing labs (e.g. Kinkos, Walgreens) it’s hard not to use them. I find the colors to be slightly off from what’s on-screen, especially the orange and yellows. For most projects, it’s good enough and I can let the slight color variation slide. The cost to print a 16 x 20 poster is only $12.86, which is a great deal!
If you would like to make your own pumpkin patch sign, I’m including both an 8 x 10 and 16 x 20 free printable for you to download. Simply click on the size you would like and when it opens in a new window, just save file onto your computer.

Printing
Here’s how I use the Walmart photo center website to order my prints:
- Step 1: Head on over to Walmart’s photo center website: www.photos.walmart.com
- Step 2: From the photo center homepage, select posters from the prints menu, then single image. You will be directed to a new screen where you can select your size and paper choice.
- Step 3: After making your size (16 x 20) and finish (I like to use matte for posters) selections, it’s time to upload the file from your computer.
- Step 4: Once the file is uploaded, drag it over to the design space. Be sure and select the portrait icon at the top.
At this point, you should be ready to order. Simply select “add to cart” and follow the directions from there. Once your order is placed, the poster should be ready in just a couple of hours.
Framing
While the poster was printing, I headed over to Michael’s to find a frame. Michael’s always has amazing deals on frames, and I found an amazing 16 x 20 wooden frame that matched our dining room table perfectly.
I never pay full price at Michael’s. If I don’t have a coupon on me, or if what I’m buying is not on sale, I’ll just check my Michael’s app on my phone, which always has coupons available. The frame I found was 80% off for Labor Day, plus I had a coupon (on my phone) for 20% off your whole purchase, which included sale items. I was able to get the frame, which normally cost $32.99, for under $10!
Assembly
The poster was ready for pickup on our way home and assembled everything while dinner was cooking. I just placed my printed pumpkin patch poster in the frame and hung it on the wall. I absolutely love the way it turned out!
I would love to see how your pumpkin patch sign turned out! Please share your photos on Instagram and tag @sprinkledwithpaper.
