Let’s talk summer planning. I know we all dream of filling everyday and all day with fun and memorable activities, but after one week of summer we would be completely burned out. That’s why this year I created a summer 10 item bucket list. Focus on your top 10 “wouldn’t be summer without them” activities, and plan each week to incorporate at least one of them. Now, of course you will do more than 10 fun things this summer, but you’ll have your top 10 activities to prioritize when planning.

I start planning out my week on Sundays. The planner I’m currently using is the Recollections life planner. It’s the same size and quality as the Erin Condren Life Planner. I like the layout and extra planning tools this one offers, plus the reasonable price. My favorite pens are the Paper Mate colored pens, they don’t bleed through and write really smooth. To simplify summer planning, I printed the summer bucket list onto full sheet label paper and inserted it directly into my planner. That way, when planning out our week, I can easily turn to our bucket list for ideas.
Before writing any activity down in my planner, I create a brain dump on a separate piece of paper. That way, I get what I need to do, want to do and everything in between, down in one place. Then I organize each activity into 1 of 5 categories.
Have to be done: Grocery shop, doctors appointments, work etc.
Would like to accomplish: Clean out hall closet, donate outgrown kids clothes, make a growth chart
Personal care: Coffee with friend, nails
Family time: Family bike ride, movie in the park, game night
Kids activities: Camps, playdate, bucket list
Once I have everything dumped, I fill in my week appropriately to fit it all in. I don’t over-commit during summer, and make sure I leave plenty of time for free play and spontaneous activities.
I’d love for you to incorporate this summer bucket list into your planner too, so I’m giving you the printable for free! Just enter your info below, and I’ll email you the pdf. Print the pdf onto a full sheet of label paper, cut along the black border, and attach to a convent place in your planner – super easy!
