This blog post reflects the Cricut Design Space updates made on March 16, 2021. Cricut makes many updates through out the year but this update has been one of my favorites to date.
Not only are we now able to search for projects but we can create collections, making finding projects easier than ever. Another, and the most exciting update in my option is the offset feature. This has been a long await feature and I’m so excited to start creating with it.
Three other useful tools that have been added are the ability to copy and paste within projects, being able to preview “draw” thickness and now being able to create a profile in Cricut Design Space to easily be found by your friends and people you would like to share projects with
Offset
The offset feature is currently only available on the your desktop computer. This feature allows you to add outlines to text, shapes, and designs which is perfect for creating a multiple layer HTV designs, creating sturdier cake toppers and creating a more professional cutline and outline for stickers.
With the offset tool in Cricut Design Space you can choose the distance (thickness) of the outline, and also the shape e.i. rounded or square corners. You can also choose to weld your offset, which would be used when creating a cake topper or not weld your offset which would be best for creating a banner. You can also add multiple offset layers, allowing you to layer multiple colors and prints within your design.
Project Collections
Create collections to organized projects. You now have the ability to create and name collections to organize projects in any way that makes sense to you. You can add multiple projects at a time or one by one up to 1,000 projects to a collections. The collections will be sorted alphabetically on your my projects page.
Project Search Tool
Now you can search for a project by typing the project name in the search bar on the My Projects page. This a great new feature for those avid Cricut crafters with hundreds of projects.
Preview Draw Thinkness
On your canvas project you can now preview the thickness of pens and markers when using the draw feature. The Cricut pens available are the Fine point (0.4), Extra Fine Point (0.3mm), Gel (1mm), Glitter Gell (0.8mm), Marker (1mm), Calligraphy (2mm), Calligraphy (2.5mm). My favorite pen is the Gel (1mm).

Copy and paste designs, text and images from one project to another in Cricut Design Space.

Profile Search
Create a profile in Cricut Design Space to easily be found by your friends and people you would like to share projects with. Your photo and name will be displayed next to projects you’ve designed and shared. This is also a great feature for finding and following your favorite crafting bloggers and youtubers.
