I absolutely LOVE Target, especially around back to school time.
Target creates such a fun and colorful back to school section. Even before we need to buy back to school supplies, I find myself in there browsing – I am a retailer’s marketing dream!
I created a fun little video of our back to school shopping trip to Target if you would like to follow along!
So many cute items this year, right?! I have to say though, these 5 back to school picks were my favorite.
Favorites
1// Paper Mate Inkjoy Pens – These are more for me. I like to color-coordinate upcoming school and extracurricular activities in my planner, and the colorful Paper Mate pens are my favorite. You can see how I plan here.
2// Cat & Jack Bento Box – I love this bento box! The design is simple, the snaps are easy for kids to open and close, plus, you can’t beat the price! This week, I’m giving away this bento box along with some awesome lunchbox accessories to one of my subscribers. See how to enter below!
3// Fun notebook. I like to make a really big deal about back to school shopping to get Madison excited about the school year. I always let her pick out a few fun supplies, and a fun notebook or folder is always on her list!
4// Cat & Jack Scribble Dot Backpack – I’m really impressed with the Cat & Jack school supplies this year. The backpacks are great quality and still super cute. Madison used to have a Pottery Barn backpack, and I would say the Cat and Jack backpacks are comparable, but for a fraction of the price.
5// Contigo Autospout Stainless Steel Insulated 13oz Water Bottle – It gets hot here in San Diego, so having a water bottle that keeps the water nice and cold is a must. It also has an autospout (straw with rubber mouthpiece), so you don’t have to worry about spills. I have a larger one for myself, and love it!
The plan
With all these amazing items, it’s sometimes hard not to get sucked into the #targetvortex. That’s why, especially this time of year, it’s super important to go in with a plan.
The supplies list our school sends out is a must. I also like to create an additional list of back to school items I think we might need (think backpacks, hand sanitizer, chapstick, etc.). While these may not be on the school’s supplies list, they are just as important. Plus, a lot of these items will also be on sale this time of year, so I like to stock up to save money and avoid additional trips in September and October.
I’ve created a free printable to help you build your list. Just enter your email below, and we’ll send you your free printable!
